I hold a Master of Music from Carnegie Mellon University and a BA in Music from Duke University, and have been teaching professionally for over twenty years.

In my earlier years, I nurtured a love for artistic expression as an award-winning classical performer. Later, I played in rock and pop bands and honed the ability to improvise -- an exciting musical journey that has transformed the way I approach the instrument.

One of my greatest joys is guiding others to develop their creative potential, both within and beyond the lesson experience.
 
As a mentor and motivator, I draw from a lifetime in the musical realm as well as 20+ years of experience in business and entrepreneurship. My career has included serving as General Manager of the University of Virginia faculty club, building a local Philadelphia music school into a regional chain in my roles as School Director and Operations Director, and establishing a concierge creative development program at SEI Investments.
